"Never doubt that a small
group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is
the only thing that ever has."

your school to fundraise for an ActionAid project in India!
Sonu
and his family are homeless and live under a bridge in
Delhi. During the summer Sonu works as a rag picker picking
up and selling empty bottles. He carries the bottles in
a bag as big as himself on his back and the weight of
the bottles mean his back always hurts at night. In the
winter, people drink less and there are fewer bottles,
so he is forced to beg. He gives the little money he gets
to his parents to help feed his younger brother and sisters,
keeping only enough for a bus fare and bread for breakfast.
Sonu was brought to a night shelter three years ago. Here
he has a safe place to sleep at night and dinner to eat.
Street
children in India is one of our priority projects
in need of your support. The project provides:
-
shelters and drop-in centres for the children to have
a safe place to go
- educational
and vocational opportunities
- help
to reunite runaway/lost children with their parents
- outreach
workers who go out actively looking for vulnerable children
You
can help by getting your school involved and holding any
fundraising activities and in return you will receive
a progress report to let you know
what has been achieved. Get in touch for a full priority
project pack today on cfd@actionaid.org.uk
