Digging wells
The villagers decided that they wanted ActionAid to help them build new wells and mend broken ones. This is because there is not enough water during the winter months when the drought happens.
Wells store the rainwater from the summer. It rains most between July and October during the monsoon season. 162 wells were dug and 202 were repaired in 2002 in the area around Khalipathar.
