WOMEN AT WORK

The women of Khalipathar work long hours. They work in the fields as well as doing all of the housework.

These women are making plates. They are sewn into place with a strong stalk. They last for a few meals and are then thrown into a compost heap.

Cow-dung mixed with soil is spread on the floor every week. When this dries it is very smooth and clean.

These are paddy seeds. They have been boiled and are drying in the sun.
