ActionAid's work ActionAid started working in Uganda in 1981 and they now work with over a million people. One of the main parts of their work is helping children to go to good schools, and I spoke to lots of children who wouldn't be able to go to school without ActionAid support. ActionAid are also doing a lot of work to improve health including building latrines, providing safe water and educating people on who to prevent disease. HIV/AIDS is a big problem in Uganda and ActionAid support several groups working to prevent HIV and care for people who are infected.
